What does Farm 4.0 mean?

Sensors are the eyes and ears of our farm. In all growing zones, we continuously monitor humidity, temperature, CO₂, and airflow. Each mushroom block also has its own QR code and digital record — we know when it was inoculated, how it’s developing, and where it is at any given time. Everything is automatically stored in our database.

🤖 Digital Twin and Automation

By connecting sensors, the database, and smart logic, we create a digital twin of the entire farm – a virtual copy of what’s happening in real time. The system then automatically suggests tasks for the farmers: which blocks to move to the next zone, what needs to be checked, or where conditions should be adjusted. Environmental management and work planning thus run intelligently, smoothly, and without errors.

🧠 Artificial Intelligence and Smart Decisions

Our AI monitors the growth of blocks and farm conditions, and it can autonomously detect when a block should be moved or harvested. This allows us to optimize cultivation, substrate selection, and mycelium strains. Blocks with suspicious development are flagged by the system for inspection, helping to detect potential contamination early and minimize losses.

Our farm uses professional growing tents that can be easily moved, combined, or adjusted based on current production needs. This system allows for rapid expansion or reorganization without construction work and with minimal maintenance or sanitation costs.

🔄 Continuous Production Without Interruptions

Thanks to the digital twin and integration of all data, we maintain smooth and uninterrupted operations. Inoculation, incubation, fruiting, and harvesting happen simultaneously – each block has a precisely scheduled time and place in the system. This approach allows us to scale production without chaos and deliver fresh mushrooms to customers every week of the year, regardless of the season.

🌱 Sustainable Operation with Minimal Impact

Our farm operates without pesticides, uses minimal water, and the spent substrate is sent to compost or biogas plants. Thanks to this and local distribution within Prague, our carbon footprint is significantly lower.

Mushrooms emit up to 10× less CO₂ per unit of protein than meat. Houby z Vršovic are not only nutritious – they’re also a climate-smart solution for the future of cities.
